Since the arrival of 4G and Jio in India, a revolution has come in the matter of internet and all the telecom companies are competing to get ahead of each other. Ever since 4G has come to India, people have got very good facilities in terms of internet at affordable prices, in which Jio is the main company which provides the most affordable 4G Internet services. Now 4G network has spread all over India.
But do you know that after 4G, 5G Technology is also coming to India? Yes, 5G is coming soon in India and preparations have been started. The telecom department has set up a setup for the 5G trial at IIT Chennai, which aims to help the industry launch a faster network.
Not only India but many countries all over the world have started to bring or install this technology. In 2020, this 5G technology will also be introduced in many big countries of the world. Most of the countries have started its trial and are preparing to launch it soon. But what is this 5G technology? How does 5G technology work and by when will 5G begin in India?
Today I am going to answer all these questions related to 5G in this post that what is 5G network after all? How will the world be after the arrival of 5G network and how will it be different from 4G network or 4G technology? So let's start and know in detail about 5G Technology.
What is 5G technology
Fifth Generation of 5G is Fifth Generation. This Fifth-generation wireless, or 5G, is the very latest cellular technology that has been engineered specifically to increase the speed and responsiveness of wireless networks easily.
In other words, 5G will be an ultra speed network for us which will provide 20 gigabytes per second speed. As soon as you touch mobile, the webpage will open in less than a thousandth of a second i.e. less than a millisecond. The entire film will be downloaded to the 5G network in five to six seconds. In 5G, data can be transmitted through wireless broadband connections at speeds of more than about 20 Gbps.
We can be called 5G as an industry standard, which is going to be faster than the currently running 4G LTE standard. In the same way as 4G has come in place of 3G, in the same way, the fifth generation network has emerged as 5G in place of 4G, you can call it a new generation standard.
What will be the speed of 5G
Now let's talk about how fast 5G is going to be and how much speed it is going to get. If we talk about 4G LTE, then it can get maximum speed from 46 Mbps to 100 Mbps. It is a different thing that 4G is not able to provide such speed yet and 4G network has not been developed in India.
Now talk about 5G, it is going to be 20 times faster than 4G. 5G technology is coming with 10 Gigabites per second i.e. 10Gbps speed. Talking about downloading speed, where in 4G you can download a movie of 2 to 3 hours in 6 minutes, while in 5G you will be able to download that movie in 5-6 seconds. So from here you can understand how fast its speed will be.
How 5G Technology Works
5G works on a completely new radio spectrum band in the network, letting you know that 5G uses millimeter waves tightly. It will work on high frequency bands, from 3.5GHz to 26GHz or even more. Wave lengths in this frequency band are small. But the trouble is that the short wave length can be easily stopped.
For this, many transmitters will have to be installed, which will cost more and telecom companies will start it in India only by thinking on investment and benefits. Two types of towers will be used in 5G technology. There will be a large tower called a micro network and a small tower, which we can call a small cell network. The small cell networked towers will help 5G reach a wider area. 5G technology will work on this basis.
4G LTE Vs 5G
Now let's talk about how they will differ from each other in 4G and 5G. As you know, 4G technology is the successor to the earlier 3G technology or its next technology. It can get a speed of up to 1GBPS, but 4G speed in India is not so much. In India, this speed is limited to 45 to 100 Mbps. But if you talk about 5G, then it will be much faster than 4G. Just as 3G does not survive ahead of 4G, similarly 4G speed will be significantly lower than 5G.
This will be completely different from 4G technology. It will work on new radio technology. Although it is not decided whether it will work initially in its original speed or not, as it all depends on the investment and infrastructure of the telecom companies.
Features or features of 5G
- Up to 10Gbps data rate. With this, network improvement at a rate of 10 to 100 times compared to 4G and 4.5G networks.
- It has 1000 times bandwidth per unit area.
- In this, we can easily get downloading speed of 1 GB to 10 GB per second.
- In this we can connect up to 100 times the number of connected devices per unit area (if we compare with 4G LTE).
- It has more capacity, which helps it to connect concurrently and instantaneously with more devices.
- It provides better connectivity if you talk about any geographic region.
- Governments and companies around the world are working together to establish 5G.
Key Choices for 5G
- The lack of a common infrastructure for the creation of digital infrastructure, especially the expansion of public wireless services, the lack of a common structure for interconnecting various engineering activities, and the lack of a favorable spectrum policy.
- The transition to 5G is a cost-effective process. Also, India lacks a strong backhaul. A backhall is a type of network that connects cell sites to a central exchange.
- The Indian market and society is still adapting to 4G at a slow pace and is not fully convinced about its use (due to lack of digital literacy and awareness). In such a situation, it is not fully developed to use 5G.
- Providing 5G network service is not a matter of a single company. For this, governments, companies and service providers around the world will have to work together. The 5G network will be successful only when it has access to a wide range of information about people and countries around the world.
5G service countries in the world
5G services have been started in China and it is the first country in the world to start 5G service. Although the service has been started in the main cities of China so far, it may take a little longer to start 5G in the whole of China.
Apart from this, there are many countries which have completed 5G trial and have started 5G in their main cities, the main countries of which are South Korea, United Kingdom, Germany, United states. Apart from this, 5G trials have already started in Switzerland and Nordic Countries and 5G is likely to start soon.
When will 5G arrive in India
How long the 5G service will start in India is difficult to say at the moment. Right now the internet network is not working properly for 4G services in India, so it may take time to come here to 5G. Ericsson, a mobile device maker, said in a statement that mobile services based on next-generation 5G technology are expected to be available in the country by 2022.
Explain that till now the trial of 5G services in India has not even started completely. In mid-June, the Digital Communications Commission (DCC) approved spectrum regulations for the 5G trial. 3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project) has decided to expedite the initial phase of 5G NR (New Radio).
TRAI has started work on bringing 5G service. 5G services will be available in the country by 2022 and the number of 5G users in the country by the end of 2025 will be five per cent of the total mobile connections if the telecom companies claim and follow TRAI's instructions. That is, you will have to wait for 5G till 2022.
So friends, this was 5G technology, which has started in some countries of the world and trials are going on in many countries. The government and all the telecom companies are making continuous efforts to bring 5G service in India soon and by 2022 it will start 5G internet service in India. When 5G starts in India, it will be a new beginning for the Internet and digital world.
Today, fast internet connection has become very important for everyone, since the time when 4G has arrived in India, internet consumption has become more and the need for high speed internet connection. In such a situation, the introduction of 5G service in India can prove to be very beneficial. At the moment you will have to wait another two years for this fast speed internet service.
